Born in Hartford Connecticut, raised in Port Charlotte Florida. She studied photography at Savannah College of Art and Design before settling back in Port Charlotte with her boyfriend and two pets. Her journey with the Supervisor of Elections office began in 2014 when she volunteered as a poll worker during two of our elections. When we were hiring temp phone bank operators during our 2016 elections, Maya joined our team once again. After getting to know the job and office staff well, Maya knew she would like to return to her position one day.
Maya loved her home and small family that she created in Savannah, but when the Charlotte County SOE offered her a position she couldn't turn us down. She packed up her little family and moved back down in just two weeks to help out anywhere she could during the busiest and craziest election Charlotte County has probably ever seen.
Among all the stress, Maya kept a smiling face knowing her little family just extended to include the whole office staff too.
