Born and raised in New York, Vinnie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Queen’s College, City University of NY. Vinnie gained work experience at a fabric company and a jewelry/giftware company, learning skills that would cross industries and broaden her horizons. Working with CEO’s and international clients, Vinnie was poised to meet the demands of the customer service world she gravitated toward. In 2004 Vinnie moved to Punta Gorda, Florida where she worked in the Banking Industry honing in on those customer service skills. Her love of people and dedication to community holds her in good stead both at a personal level and along her career path.
In 2007 she joined the staff as a Deputy Registrar. She capitalizes on her customer service skill base as she serves the needs of the residents of Charlotte County. Vinnie always has a smile and shares an occasional joke, but takes her job very seriously. Answering phones and questions, registering voters, and general office duties provides a full day.
With additional staff restructuring, Vinnie also serves as Qualifying Officer. She is the main interface with candidates, the SOE office, and the State Division of Elections. Vinnie is your "Go-To Gal" if you have questions related to petitions, referendums or anything related to candidacy and qualifying. She can be found at either the main office in Punta Gorda or on occasion covering one of the Annex offices.
In 2012, Vinnie took on a dual job adjustment as Vote by Mail Coordinator. During election times, Vinnie oversees the demands of the very busy “Vote by Mail” campaign. Taking requests, mailing absentee ballots and organizing returns, all while maintaining the necessary security of these processes, provides increased opportunities for growth and satisfaction.
In both 2016 and 2018 she received a certificate for completing a Signature Verification Seminar.
In 2016 she also became a Master Florida Certified Election Professional (MFCEP) through the Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections, upholding FSASE’s core values and for her service to the electoral process.
In 2017, Vinnie took on the task of being Front Office Manager.
Networking across industries enhances Vinnie’s customer service prowess. She is an active member, current Council Chair, Past President and Past Secretary of the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA) where she enjoys making a difference to her community. In addition, she is Past President of the Ponce de Leon Ladies Auxiliary. She also has been an active participant with Relay for Life. She enjoys cake decorating, sewing, arts and crafts and speaks fluent Italian.
Together with her husband Jose Marquez, family and friends, this born and raised New Yorker has made new roots in Punta Gorda, Florida. Vinnie welcomes the opportunity to serve the community she now calls home.
