The list maintenance program is designed to keep accurate and current voter registration records in the statewide Florida Voter Registration System (FVRS). The program is conducted in each odd-numbered year. The information identifies those voters who have not voted in the last two (2) years, and who did not make a request that their registration records be updated.
The process of list maintenance is to mail the selected voters an Address Confirmation to verify that the voter still resides at the address on record. If no verification of that voter is made, an Address Confirmation Final Notice is mailed. (F.S.98.065)
If no response is received from the Address Confirmation Final Notice, or the notice is returned undeliverable within thirty (30) days from mailing, the voter is placed on the inactive list. Removal is completed if a voter does not update their voter registration information, request an absentee ballot, or vote by the 2nd general election once they are placed on the inactive list.
Voter may be placed on inactive list after two (2) years of inactivity.
Voter may be removed once on the inactive list for two (2) General Elections.
